Altius Foundation has over 25 years of experience in comprehensive support programs that include food assistance, job training, labor integration, and social integration for groups facing the greatest difficulties in accessing the labor market.

Through its project "Mercado 1 Kilo de Ayuda," it provides food and hygiene products to 1,500 families each week. In 2024, more than 1.5 tons of basic products were distributed

The "Mercado 1 Kilo de Ayuda" project has two objectives: to provide a weekly shopping trip for unemployed families and simultaneously coordinate a network of donor companies and the necessary logistics to save thousands of kilos of food from being wasted, as more than 80% of the products provided are recovered.

With the daily collection of surplus from supermarkets, beneficiaries have access to all kinds of fresh products that they select themselves according to their needs in a self-service format, a distinctive feature of this project as it gives autonomy to the user and dignifies the traditional way of providing food aid.
