Why and for what do we process your personal data?

Banco Santander will process the User’s personal data for specific, explicit and legitimate purposes in accordance with the information on data protection that the User has provided, all of them necessary for the provision of the services, to comply with our legal obligations or, based on legitimate interest, as detailed in each case. For those purposes not related to the service provided, Banco Santander will only process the data if it has a legal basis, of which the User will be duly informed. In the event that this is consent and the User authorised the processing, it will be guaranteed that it can be revoked at any time.

Thus, Banco Santander may collect and process the personal data of Users provided on the Website for:

How long do we keep your data?

We will process your personal data for as long as it is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, in accordance with the legal storage periods and limitation periods for the liability arising from the processing indicated in the information on data protection when you provide the data.

With whom do we share your data?

We will only communicate your data when we have previously informed you, for the provision of the services or in the legitimate interest of the Bank, to comply with legal obligations or, otherwise, if you have given us your consent.

In addition, the Bank has the collaboration of some third-party service providers who have access to your personal data and who process the aforementioned data on behalf of the Bank as part of their services.

Banco Santander follows strict criteria for selecting service providers to comply with its data protection obligations and undertakes to sign with them the corresponding data processing agreement under which it will impose on them, among others, the following obligations: apply appropriate technical and organisational measures; process personal data for the agreed purposes and only in accordance with the documented instructions of the Bank; and to delete or return the data to Banco Santander once the provision of the services is complete.

How do we protect your data?

Banco Santander adopts the appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure an adequate level of security based on the risks identified in the prior analysis in view of the state of the art, the costs of application and the nature, scope, context and purposes of the processing, as well as risks of variable probability and severity for the rights and freedoms of natural persons. It also has the necessary mechanisms at its disposal to protect personal information against unauthorised access, theft, unlawful modification and loss of the data.

What are your rights when you provide us with your data?

Banco Santander will only process data that is appropriate, relevant and limited to the services provided, processing them only for as long as they are necessary for the purpose for which they were collected.

In any case, the User may exercise their rights of access, portability, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing. Likewise, the User may revoke the consent given at any time.

To exercise the aforementioned rights, the User must send an email to privacidad@gruposantander.es or a letter to C/ Juan Ignacio Luca de Tena, 11, 28027, Madrid (Santander Spain Privacy Office). When there are reasonable doubts about your identity (for example, when the communication is made from an email other than that available to the Bank), you will be asked to provide additional information to help us verify your identity.

These rights also apply to object to the sending of electronic commercial communications from the Bank, for which you can write to the above addresses or follow the instructions appearing in each commercial communication you receive. You can also limit unwanted advertising by registering your data free of charge and voluntarily in an advertising exclusion file. Complaints related to data protection

The User may always contact the Data Protection Officer/Privacy Office of the Bank.

You may also file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency if you disagree with the response you have received from the Bank. The necessary information is available on its website: www.aepd.es.
